Salah seorang pengamat politik yang juga Dosen Komunikasi di Universitas Bengkulu (UNIB), DR Mas Agus Firmansyah menjelaskan metode survei sangat berpengaruh pada hasil survei yang dilakukan. Hal ini bukan tanpa sebab, wilayah survei, suku maupun jenis pekerjaan harus terwakilkan secara menyeluruh.
“Kalau responden hanya diambil dari beberapa desa yang notabene basis ataupun dusun salah satu kandidat, dan seluruh wilayah tidak terwakilkan tentu hasil survei tersebut patut dipertanyakan,” jelasnya.
Kendati survei untuk menentukan prediksi namun Mas Agus berpendapat realitas politik dilapangan bisa berbalik dari hasil survei. Ia mencontohkan dibeberapa Pilkada di kota besar, kandidat yang hasil surveinya tinggi namun hasil real count anjlok jauh.
“Survei itu bukan instrumen yang pasti, semua tergantung hasil real count. Nanti kalau kandidat yang surveinya tinggi lantas anjlok di real count menuduh kandidat lain main politik uang ini anggapan yang keliru. Itu sudah terlalu interpretasinya,” tambahnya.
Mas Agus kembali menegaskan kalau semua hasil survei tidak akan mampu dijadikan legitimasi namun hanya prediksi.
” Kalau sampai menuduh kandidat lain main politik uang tentu harus ada pembuktian karena sudah masuk wilayah hukum,” timpalnya.
Menurut dia, metode survei berpengaruh besar pada hasil survei, baik itu menyangkut refresentasi responden terwakilkan atau tidak, usia, gender (jenis kelamin, red), pekerjaan hingga kesukuan.
“Kalau beberapa poin tersebut tidak terwakilkan maka hasilnya akan bias. Karena yang menentukan nilai real count kemenangan salah satu kandidat tergantung dengan realitas politik di lapangan, bukan berdasarkan hasil survei,” tukasnya.(*)
